As year-end international travel increases, various real-time data sources are available to help individuals plan their upcoming trips.

Research suggests that approximately 1.4 billion passengers are expected to fly internationally in 2025, with around 92% of Americans intending to travel this year.

Furthermore, last-minute travelers often postpone about 18% of their vaccinations due to a lack of time before departure. The U.S. CDC notes that this is concerning, as most vaccinations require approximately two weeks for protection to become effective.

Recent outbreaks of chikungunya and dengue in the Americas, as well as poliovirus detections in Europe, have caught many travelers off guard, leaving them vulnerable to disease in 2025.

To assist travelers, the U.S. government publishes numerous advisories each month.

The U.S. Department of State's International Travel Advisory map provides an overview of the advisory level in different destinations.

As of August 31, 2025, the State Department recommends selecting "Explore Full Map" to zoom in on the detailed safety and security risks for each country.

Additionally, the CDC's Travel Health Advisories provide the latest information on disease outbreaks and recommended travel vaccinations and medications.

Moreover, a few required vaccines are those that travelers must have to enter a country, as mandated by that country's regulations. For example, yellow fever, meningococcal, and polio vaccines may be required by certain countries.

Separately, the United Kingdom's NHS wrote on September 1, 2025, that flu vaccination is recommended for several groups of people, including those with certain long-term health conditions, to book their free flu jab.

The UK writes, 'Find country-specific recommendations plus other important advice and tips to stay healthy abroad' when visiting this webpage.

And throughout the U.S., on 'Main Street' in most cities, travel vaccination clinics and pharmacies offer personal advice ahead of your trip this Fall season.
