About Us
Vax-Before-Travel
Vax-Before-Travel LLC (VBT) is an international publisher of travel vaccine information that empowers people to make informed immunization decisions in collaboration with their healthcare provider before departing abroad.
VBT publishes vaccination information people want to know before they go!
VBT translates clinical information into a language people can understand, enabling robust conversations between vaccine experts and travelers to reduce the under-use, over-use, and misuse of vaccines.
"We believe international travelers want to learn about disease risks before their next vacation or trip. In the age of AI-produced content and biased search results, we believe vaccine science is not subjective, and trusted healthcare providers should always verify breaking information's efficacy before advising patients,' writes Donald Hackett, VBT publisher. 'This philosophy empowers healthier lives.'

Travel Vaccination Overvire
Expedia Group's latest Traveler Insights reveals that about 4 billion passengers are expected to fly in 2024 and increase 9.9% annually through 2028. The U.S. Travel Association recently reported that over 40% of international travelers require pre-arrival vaccine authorizations for diseases like yellow fever. Recent research says tens of millions of people are not appropriately vaccinated before visiting disease-endemic countries. Furthermore, last-minute travelers deferred about 18% of protective vaccines because of insufficient time before departure.
Travel Vaccination Timing
The U.S. CDC recommends that most travel vaccines be administered at least one month, if not earlier. The time between the vaccine's administration and the start of travel is significant for seniors. During pretravel consultations, health providers will consider potential interactions between vaccines and medications. A study by S. Steinlauf et al. identified potential drug interactions with travel-related medicines in 45% of travelers with chronic conditions; 3.5% of these interactions were potentially serious.

The Trusted Travel Vaccination Network offers advice and services to international travelers seeking unbiased information to prevent disease while traveling.
