Argentina Travel Vaccines 2025

Knowing the vaccination requirements of the Argentine Republic is key to staying healthy while exploring this South American vacation paradise. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the UK's Fit For Travel, visitors to Argentina in 2025 may be exposed to mosquito-transmitted infectious diseases. As of November 2025, the CDC recommends checking the travel vaccine list and seeing a healthcare provider at least a month before visiting Argentina. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Argentine Ministry of Health published information on mosquito-transmitted diseases, including Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika.

Argentina Travel Vaccination Advisories

As of September 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Canada have issued travel advisories and vaccine recommendations for visiting Argentina, which is home to approximately 45 million people. Other agencies have issued travel notices for Argentina, including the UK Travel Health Pro, the Pan American Health Organization, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, and the World Health Organization Disease Outbreak Alerts. In March 2025, the U.S. Embassy in Argentina and the UK NHS issued health alerts. The U.S. Department of State and other governments have issued Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions for Argentina. In early 2025, Argentina's Ministry of Health published Editorial del BEN 747.

Argentina Varicella (Chickenpox)

In Argentina, the Ministry of Health introduced the varicella vaccine in 2015, administered in a single dose at 15 months of age. Between 2005 and 2019, Argentina had a varicella incidence rate of 5.93 cases/100,000 population. As of August 2025, Argentina's health officials report 8,980 cases of chickenpox, similar to 2024, and slightly higher than in 2020-2023.

Argentina Chikungunya

In 2025, over 2,600 cases of Chikungunya were reported. As of December 2024, about 1,388 cases of Chikungunya had been reported. Valneva SE's IXCHIQ® vaccine is approved in various countries.

Argentina Dengue

Argentina has confirmed that dengue fever is classified as a high-risk health issue due to an increase in classic and hemorrhagic infections, posing a year-round health risk, especially in the Central and Northwest regions, where serotypes DENV-1, DENV-2, and DENV-3 have been detected. Over 17,000 dengue cases were reported in 2025 and over 581,000 cases in 2024. The QDENGA® dengue vaccine is available in several Central American countries.

Argentina Haemorrhagic Fever

A total of 373 suspected cases of Argentine haemorrhagic fever (AHF) and 49 confirmed cases, including three deaths, have been reported in Argentina in 2025. Confirmed cases have been reported in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, and Santa Fe. AHF is caused by Junin virus, a member of the arenavirus family. Argentina Measles Vaccine

In 2025, MMR vaccines will be available in Argentina. Regarding measles vaccination coverage, it was 83% in 2022, a decrease of 8 percentage points from 2000.

Argentina Tuberculosis Cases

In 2022, there were 27 new cases of tuberculosis per 100,000 population in Argentina, which has over 40 million residents. The BCG vaccine is available in Argentina.

Argentina Yellow Fever Vaccine

yellow fever vaccination (YF-VAX or Stamaril) certificate (ICVP) may be required at the airport for visitors to Argentina who have traveled from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, or Venezuela. Additionally, countries in Africa have been added to the list of required destinations.

Argentina Zika Vaccine

The UK and the U.S. CDC say there is a risk of the Zika virus in this country. The PAHO reported that Argentina has confirmed 762 Zika cases as of November 2025, up from 564 in 2024. No Zika vaccine is expected to be available in 2025.
