Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced on August 25, 2020, that 5 US states—Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Maryland, and Montana have been removed from New York State's COVID-19 travel advisory. The advisory requires individuals who have traveled to New York from areas with significant community spread to quarantine for 14-days.

Translate Bio Inc. said in an SEC filing that an experimental coronavirus vaccine candidate developed with Sanofi SA induced an immune response in non-human studies. In the filing Translate cited Sanofi's presentation slides showing that 3-doses of the vaccine candidate induced neutralizing antibodies and T-cell responses in animal studies and is set to be evaluated in an early- to mid-stage human trial, reported Reuters on August 25, 2020.
