Chikungunya Outbreak Philippines 2025
The Philippines states that Chikungunya is an infectious disease caused by a virus transmitted to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes. The DOH reported that the number of Chikungunya cases recorded nationwide decreased in 2024. The U.S. CDC says travelers visiting the Philippines are at elevated risk of exposure to the chikungunya virus, even if there is no current outbreak
Dengue Outbreak Philippines 2025
The Philippines Department of Health (DOH) has recorded over 123,000 cases of dengue and 437 dengue-related deaths across the country from January to June 2025. In February 2025, Quezon City (QC) declared a Dengue outbreak. On July 1, 2025, 5,762 dengue cases were reported in QC, with District 2 confirming the most cases. The QCESD stated that most fatal dengue cases (23) involved children and young women. The Philippines' DOH considers the situation manageable. As of August 20, 2025, the data reflects a 7% increase.
